Are you looking forward to the summer? Maybe planning a vacation, but not sure how you’ll afford it? Here are a few ways to help you save so you can enjoy some summer fun.

Direct Deposit – One way is to automate saving by diverting a portion of your salary into a savings account. If you have direct deposit, set up an automatic transfer at your credit union so when your employer sends your check to your share draft account, a portion can go directly into a savings account.

Summer Account – Separate your money into a separate account, so it’s harder to spend. Open a Summer Savings account and allocate your summer funds into this account as needed. The best part of this account is that it has unlimited withdrawals from June to August, so you have access to this money when you plan to spend it!

R1 Cha-Ching – A great perk that comes with some of our Spending accounts is R1 Cha-Ching! Download the app, sign in or register, and start saving on your summer plans with discounts and coupons. Find great deals on travel, hotel stay, and even local attractions. Search recreation options to find possible deals on theme parks, entertainment, and events.

Budgets or Savings Goals – Using online and mobile banking, R1CU members can access a free tool to help get their finances in line. Set up a budget or savings goal to keep an eye on your finances while working towards your summer fun money goal.

Loans – With life, unexpected expenses occur. That doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the plans you have made. Resource One offers a few loans to help out with your summer plans. Take a look at a few of our loan options to find one that fits your needs best.

A little financial planning will help you have lots of fun without breaking your budget in the run-up to summer. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Please send us a chat or give us a call at 1-800-375-3674 to learn more.
