Resource One Employees Volunteer at Kids’ Meals
Houston staff pack and deliver lunches to feed children participating in the Kids’ Meals program.
HOUSTON, TX (September 4, 2020)
Resource One Houston employees used their Volunteer Time Off to help out a local organization, Kids’ Meals. This organization’s mission is to feed children under the age of 6 who face debilitating hunger due to extreme poverty. Since COVID-19, they are now feeding over 7,000+ children and families a day, and they can only do this with the support of the Houston community through volunteering and donations.
Resource One connected with this organization during a Pay-It-Forward challenge held earlier in the year in which employees pooled funds to donate $300. When the Houston staff learned that Kids’ Meals required help delivering lunches, the staff set up two teams to help volunteer during the week. The staff assisted with packing lunches and delivering them to the homes of children who otherwise would not have access to lunch that day.
“Being able to volunteer our time to help Kids’ Meals provide lunch to thousands of children in our community has felt very rewarding. When things seem so uncertain, it’s great to show people, especially children, acts of kindness that spread joy and hope in their lives.
