Resource One employees spend a fun-filled afternoon handing out Halloween goodies at Vogel Alcove’s trunk or treat event
Employees decorated their vehicles, dressed up, and handed out gift bags full of candies and toys. To provide Dallas’s homeless children a safe environment to celebrate Halloween, gift bags were pre-made, and masks were worn in addition to social distancing.
“The opportunity to assist with providing the opportunity for these children to have an activity for
Halloween was heartwarming,” shared Jennifer Grinder, Chief Experience Officer at Resource One Credit Union. “Vogel Alcove is a one of a kind organization that is focused on the well-being of the children. We love that we got to be a part of experiences like these to enhance the children’s growth.”
Vogel Alcove helps homeless children by becoming their safe haven during the day, providing them stability, nutrition, wellness checkups, and therapy. Vogel Alcove serves as many as 200 children each day, allowing them to learn, grow, and thrive in a place free from hunger or trauma. While children are in the care of Vogel, the parents, most of whom are single mothers, have the opportunity to work, look for work, or go to school.
