Social Media Blitz Makes Credit Unions a Hot Topic on Social Media This Summer
Resource One Credit Union participates in Social Media Blitz to promote the Credit union Movement.
DALLAS, TX (August 13, 2021)
On July 30, the Illinois Credit Union System (ICUS) rallied the credit union movement to create a digital “wave” that reached more than 22 million people on social media. The goal – to inspire high energy conversation about why people love their credit unions.
Driven by the cooperative spirit, Resource One Credit Union and more than 700 organizations across 48 states and nine countries participated. Resource One supported this campaign by reaching out to members to share their credit union story while using hashtags #r1cu and #ilovemycreditunion to be entered to win prizes.
The organic social media buzz surrounding this campaign made it a great cooperative achievement in the credit union movement. In addition to organically reaching more than 22 million people on social media, at least 33 thousand virtual interactions were prompted by #ilovemycreditunion. More people are now aware they have the option to choose a not-for-profit financial cooperative that exists and is owned by its members.
