Resource One Credit Union Donates to Texas Children in Need
R1CU collects and donates to homeless and sick Texas children during April 2022.
DALLAS, TX (May 20, 2022)
During the month of April, members and staff of Resource One Credit Union worked together to collect donations to benefit children in Texas.
Donations collected in Dallas benefited Vogel Alcove, a local charity that serves children experiencing homelessness in the area. R1CU collected children’s clothing and diapers for the charity to help meet some of the many urgent needs Vogel has at this time. Resource One donated over 145 articles of clothing and over 3 cases of diapers alongside our members’ contributions.
“Children experiencing homelessness are more likely to experience chronic diseases, behavioral health concerns, developmental delays, hunger, and malnutrition than those who have homes. As employees of Resource One Credit Union, we are committed to the practical and philosophical efforts made by Vogel Alcove to help children and their families recover from the trauma of homelessness. Their approach to rewiring brains, repairing hearts, and restoring families are consistent with the Credit Union philosophy of ‘People helping People.'” Stated Yolonda Woodson, Community Engagement Manager at Resource One.
Branches in the Houston area collected enough items to benefit 200 children in the care of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. This donation was one of many organized by the Young Professionals Conference held on May 9, 2022.
