About Credit Unions Care
As a not-for-profit, member-owned, cooperative financial services institutions, credit unions exist to serve their members, not make a profit. They operate by seven cooperative principles, one of which is Concern for Community. While focusing on member needs, credit unions work for the sustainable development of communities through policies and programs accepted by the members.
Unlike other financial institutions, support of the community is in the collective credit union DNA. Credit unions exist to help people, from the financially well off to those of modest means. Every member counts. Credit union members are fiercely loyal as a result, knowing that their credit union is there for them in bad times, as well as good. The same people-first philosophy causes credit unions and their employees to get involved in community charitable activities and development.
Credit Unions Care is a banner under which credit unions can show this commitment every day in the community or communities they serve. It’s a reminder that caring is what credit unions do best.
